Our Facilities

We currently have three residential sites in the Sandpoint area.

Our Blue Haven complex in Sandpoint consists of two adjacent residences, one owned and one leased, consisting of nine units with the capacity to house up to 14 adults and 18 children, including single parents and families.

The Trestle Creek facility, just outside of Sandpoint in Hope, Idaho, provides 4 single family homes and a fifth residence with four units for single women known as The Holland House. Women in the Holland House each have their own bedroom and bathroom and share a comfortable, spacious common area and kitchen. All of our Trestle Creek homes were funded by grants through Idaho Housing and Finance Association and were built by the combined efforts of AmeriCorps and Young Community Builders. The five acre parcel of land was provided by donation for use as transitional housing.

Our third location is known as Harmony House and is our safe house for women and children who are in danger due to domestic violence. T.I.P.S. provides this safe haven as part of our housing programs as domestic violence is the leading cause of homelessness, with 43% of our homeless clients consisting of women and children fleeing an abusive relationship. Harmony House is an emergency shelter and as such is staffed 24/7 to assist victims and their children. Harmony House is funded through a grant from the Department of Justice.

Other Programs included under the T.I.P.S. umbrella include:

The Domestic Abuse Education Program (DAEP): The DAEP is for men who have been convicted of domestic violence. The Court has the option of ordering an offender into this treatment program which is supported by user fees.

Women’s Support Group: This group, which meets weekly, is a support group for any women impacted by domestic violence and is led by staff members.
