What it is.
The Emergency Cold Weather shelter is a safe place for people to come to during extreme cold weather. We provide a simple hot soup in the evening along with coffee, tea, and hot cocoa. Pastries and juice are offered in the morning.
Where it is.
The Emergency Cold Weather shelter is hosted by First Presbyterian Church in their Fellowship hall located at 417 N. Fourth.
When it is.
The Emergency Cold Weather is open when the projected night-time low temperature is 20 degrees or less. The shelter will then open from 7:00 PM to 7:AM.
Who is eligible?
Anyone who needs a safe warm place to sleep is welcome at the shelter.
Other information.
Volunteers are needed to check guests in and to stay overnight. Anyone interested in volunteering can call 290-8456 or email tipsshelter@yahoo.com
