Leadership Sandpoint gives Blue Haven a Facelift

Leadership Sandpoint chose the TIPS “Blue Haven” facility as the recipient for a much needed renovation project. During the spring, they organized a fund raiser to secure funds for the project along with various donations from local suppliers.  During the summer, they put forth the “sweat equity” to bring about the Blue Haven transformation. The facelift came in the form of interior and exterior improvements including:

  • power-washing siding
  • scraping
  • caulking
  • remodeling/reinforcing porches
  • installing metal roofing and trim on garden shed
  • funding the re-working and shingling of  the deteriorating roof over the office area (work done by Son Construction)
  • reworking a portion of the fire escape
  • painting the interior hallway
  • painting garden shed
  • painting parking bumpers, lines and safety zones
  • painting all exterior porches and fire escape

Special thanks goes out to project leader Eric Donenfeld and his crew along with Dave Nicholson from Son Construction for all of their hard work.

Team Depot Day fence project

Last modified on 2010-06-15 15:34:39 GMT. 0 comments. Top.

The Home Depot donated $1000 in materials and 13 volunteer employees to install a new 80′ privacy fence with 2 gates at Harmony House. They arrived around 9am on June 2nd with tools, determination and kind generous hearts.  In less than two hours, they removed the old shattered fence and dug 13 holes for the new one. One could see that indeed they worked well as a team on this “Team Depot Day”. It was clear that their mission was focused and their hearts sincere toward executing this project with meticulousness and efficiency. The project was completed shortly after 3pm and the final result was literally transformational in appearance and overall feeling. Thank you Team Depot for an excellent job!

A new privacy fence (6′ height by 80′ length with 2 gates) is being installed at Harmony House. Home Depot is generously donating the materials and half of the labor toward this project as part of their “Team Depot Day” community enhancement projects. The purpose of the fence is to provide extra safety and security to the Harmony House staff and guests.

We recently moved the Domestic Violence Shelter (Harmony House) to a new location. We wish to thank the Panhandle Riders ATV club; especially Brian Dunham, Chuck & Heidi, Bob & Barbee. We also appreciate the help from Casper Reitz, Rick Rudland, Rob Carson, Owen Mullen and Chris Rinehart. The ATV club brought trucks and equipment to assist everyone during this Sunday move. This is what being a community is all about. Thank you!

Prior to the move, we received services from the Cedar Hills Church cleaning crew along with Chip and Scott affiliated with Sandpoint Furniture/Carpet One. Your services are greatly appreciated!
